Project Details

The SCABEE project focuses on Sustainable Circular Economy Teaching Cases (TCS) with the aim of integrating sustainability into engineering and business education. The main results include 16 TCS covering various circular economy phases, utilizing real industrial examples as learning material. TCS, defined as case studies involving real situations, are designed to teach sustainability through active student engagement, discussions, analyses, and solution finding.

The TCS developed in the SCABEE project address different phases of the product life cycle and aim to be transdisciplinary, aligning with Bloom’s taxonomy. These TCS will be tested and evaluated with at least 500 students, fostering skills and awareness of environmental impacts among engineering and business students.

The project’s innovative aspects lie in its emphasis on sustainability within TCS, the incorporation of diverse learning methods (such as negotiation/role plays), transdisciplinarity, and transnational collaboration, providing solutions and viewpoints based on various cultures.

Key findings

Development of a guideline and framework for TCS focusing on sustainability.

Development, implementation, and evaluation of 16 TCS across different levels of Bloom’s taxonomy.

Engagement of at least 500 students in the TCS implementation and evaluation.
