Knowledge mobilization

Knowledge mobilization as a comprehensive concept concerns how knowledge is created, shared, and applied. Successful development, sharing, and use of sought-after, practice-oriented, and application-focused research and development projects and knowledge can create a strong, knowledge-based foundation for health education programs and professional practice. Strategic knowledge mobilization can help create more synergy and integration between education and research at SUND, UCL, thereby strengthening both educational and knowledge-related tasks.

In the Policy for Knowledge Mobilization for the Health Area at UCL, it is emphasized that the goal is to create and support an organization that constantly demands, develops, and investigates the available knowledge while simultaneously identifying needs for new knowledge in order to ensure an evidence-based knowledge foundation and professional practice (SUND, UCL, 2020). However, we still lack sufficient knowledge about which organizational and local conditions, factors, and potentials are involved in further succeeding in creating, sharing, and applying knowledge at SUND, UCL.

The purpose of the Knowledge Mobilization project is therefore to investigate, elaborate, and test how we can best create, share, and apply professional knowledge at SUND, UCL through co-creation, based on knowledge, experiences, and proposed solutions from relevant stakeholders: students, assistant professors/lecturers, leaders, managers, researchers, the organization, patients/citizens, practice, and external partners.

Knowledge mobilization is a focus and priority area for the Health Area at UCL in 2023-2024.
