Abstract

Understanding how teaching philosophies shape entrepreneurship education requires insights from multiple fields, including educational science. While the importance of teaching philosophies is widely recognized, gaps remain in understanding their purpose, scope, and impact. This chapter explores these gaps through an integrative review, synthesizing key insights from entrepreneurship education and educational science. The study is guided by the following research question: What gaps exist in current research, and what emerging trends and challenges shape teaching philosophies in entrepreneurship education? This is analyzed through a narrow and selective body of literature to identify critical gaps and propose a future research agenda. The agenda addresses rationales, research questions, methods, and expected contributions across four themes: 1) Educator reflective practice, 2) Theoretical foundations, 3) Impact on entrepreneurial competency development, and 4) Contextual influences. By integrating diverse perspectives, this study advances understanding and provides a roadmap for future research on entrepreneurship education teaching philosophies.
