Abstract

As an example (…),when asked if she had any hobbies, one informant responded smilingly that she loved dogs. Following up on this interest, the conversation led the informant to reveal a tattoo that included the name of a neighbour’ s now deceased dog. From there, a dialogue developed in which, rather than responding to inquiries, the informant became a storyteller who proceeded to tell of her love for animals and of her loneliness and lack of human contact
