Abstract

In this chapter it is investigated how didactics of outdoor education may serve as a platform to develop intercultural competencies. Merging the fields of outdoor education with intercultural learning seems to be a gap relatively unexplored in current literature. By merging these two fields the aim is to contribute with a toolbox for teachers to be used for practical implementation in learning situations. Hopefully, a strengthened awareness among practitioners of the benefits for all students in developing intercultural competencies through didactics of outdoor education will be of value and increase the overall learning in the process towards an inclusive and democratic society.
