Abstract
Entrepreneurship education has become a new topic for many institutions of higher education.Understanding the entrepreneurial learning journey appears to be a less researched topic.Despite the existing theoretical models of collaborative partnerships, little insight is availableto conceptualize the entrepreneurial learning journey. Thus, this study investigates theentrepreneurial learning journey. Data collections stems from a Danish educational incubatorprogram with 38 participants, spanning an observation period of 3 years. Findings have beenreported by an external consultancy report. A single case study reporting the viewpoint fromthe entrepreneurs’ perspective is used for triangulation purpose and further discussion.Findings indicate the importance of orchestrating an entrepreneurial learning journey, whichmeets the individual development needs of nascent entrepreneurs. Moreover, partnershipsemerge as an important theme in conjunction with enabling entrepreneurial learning, bothnationally as well as internationally. Findings also indicate, that the entrepreneurial learningjourney often takes a longer period of time compared to the time-boxed duration of theobserved incubator program. Consequently, further discussion and investigation are needed toshape future education initiatives, which might enhance the survival rate of nascent start-upentrepreneurs.
