Abstract
Background
Socially vulnerable families are described as having a need for health promotion. Research however show that socially vulnerable families make less use of established health promotion services. This indicates a lack of knowledge about health promotion efforts tarketing socially vulnerable families.
Because of a struggle to find resistance to challenges in life, socially vulnerable families need balance in everyday life in the form of structure, predictability and transparency. Enhancing occupational balance thus appears as an important element in health promotion initiatives targeting socially vulnerable families.
The role of information and communication technology (ICT) in health promotion is attributed to an ever-increasing value. Knowledge on use of ICT for health promotion of socially vulnerable families is however limited. Moreover, empirical research on how ICT can enhance occupational balance for socially vulnerable families is lacking.
Objective
The purpose of project BalanceMyDay is to develop an ICT supported health promotion programme, enhancing socially vulnerable families occupational balance in everyday life.
Methods
The project consists of three studies. A participatory methodological design is used. Methods such as as review, interviews, cultural probes and workshops are applied in the studies.
Results/Conclusions.
In this presentation, studies and preliminary results of the project will be presented.
