Abstract

The aim of this State of the Art Report is to present results from an investigation with regard to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in 2021-2022 at four Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Europe. The report constitutes the first Project Result (PR1) in the project ‘Sustainable Competences in Higher Education – SustainComp’ that is co-funded by Erasmus+. The investigation was conducted as a case study of ESD at the four partner country HEIs: Masaryk University (MUNI),
University of Ljubljana (UL), University of Agder (UiA) and UCL University College (UCL). Case study research methods (Yin, 2012) were applied in the form of a joint inquiry in own didactical practices conducted by researchers and lecturers from the partner institutions. Results were based on
analysis of self-reported data from survey distributed to employees and semi-structured interviews.
