Abstract
The objective of this review is to investigate Scandinavian women’s experiences in connection with "abortion on request”.
Types of participants: This review will consider studies that include adult women from age 18 living in (but not necessarily legal citizens of) Scandinavia, defined as Denmark, Sweden and Norway, who have experienced an induced (medical or surgical) abortion without a medical reason, described here as an “abortion on request”.
Phenomena of interest: The objective of this review is to investigate Scandinavian women’s experiences in connection with – meaning before, during and after the intervention - an abortion on request and in investigating possible and self-reported psychosocial or psychological health consequences following the abortion.
Types of context: This review will focus on Scandinavian women who have had a legal abortion on request in a Scandinavian hospital environment, performed by authorized medical personal.
