Abstract
Purpose: The article aims to enrich discussions about the potential for knowledge production in social work research and, in particular, practice research focusing on the capacities and capabilities of involving those in marginalized positions. Method: Based on themes from our workshop of the 6th Conference on Practice Research, the article nuances current practice research discussions by applying selected concepts from Donna Haraway’s work. Results: The contribution considers capacities and capabilities embedded in the researcher-researched interaction in collaborative knowledge production and suggests polylogue to embrace care and entangled connections in both research and social work practice. Discussions: The article emphasizes involvement of those in marginalized positions by situating the researcher(s) and researched, essential to knowledge production. With the aspiration to refine participatory and collaborative approaches and learn from attempts and struggles, we suggest that staying with the trouble across positions can give access to new ways of responsible knowledge production.
