Abstract

What we hope to contribute to economicsis a debate for a paradigmatic change from conventional business economics to an interactionist one. We call this “qualitative economics” because it is based upon understanding the humanconditionthrough meanings and definitions. Such understanding requires the use of numbers, but also the analyses and predictions of human interactions. Our arguments, theories, and examples drawn from the Lifeworld philosophical tradition and perspective which are then enhanced by symbolic interactionism. However, when we then see that this tradition has developed linguisticsinto a science, we can apply these principlesto make economics into a science itself.
