Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development in teacher education: Possibilities, capabilities and dilemmas in educating teachers to handle the complexity of climate change and global warming through interdisciplinary and outdoor didactics. What is the relationship between specific substantive knowledge and interdisciplinary skills, and the measurable competences and ‘Bildung’ processes for teachers in a sustainable future?
Presentation of the course, the intentions, methodology, content and discussion of the coherent dilemmas between the subject specific skills in ‘Nature & Technology’ and in ‘History’, as well as the interdisciplinary skills on the one hand, and measurable competences in the teacher education and ideals of ‘Bildung’ on the other.
