The consumer organization Stop Wasting
Food has had a great deal of success in reducing food waste in Denmark in a short period of time. In the first part of this Bachelor’s thesis, we analyze Stop Wasting
Food and examine which communication
tools have helped make the intiative
successful by, among other, interviewing the founder of Stop Wasting Food and several
communication experts.

In the next part of the Bachelor’s thesis, mainly
using Sepstrup’s “Communication and Campaign Planning”, we demonstrate how public institutions can create campaigns with a change of
behavior using key points from Stop Wasting Food. We have chosen to create a new
campaign based on the campaign Get Moving,
by the National Board of Health to show how this model is universal for public campaigns.

Subsequently, we have prepared three products for the communication solution: A mockup of an app, a mockup of a pair of VR glasses and a press release.

At the end of the Bachelor’s thesis, based on the
analysis and communication solution and through a perspective, we question public campaigns today, the amount of resources used as well as how they are
designed and executed.
